SS 202 Series Stainless Steel Prices, Uses, Application

Stainless steel material has been helpful for every primary manufacturing unit. well, no one can deny that stainless steel has been the world's most used component in electrical, industrial, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries.202 Jindal steel pipes belong to 200 series of stainless steel

Do you know a certain amount of chromium, carbon and other metals are added in order to make it a stainless steel metal? Other characteristics of stainless steel include. Austenitic stainless steels are used for domestic, industrial, transport, and architectural products based totally on their corrosion resistance but also for their formability, strength, and their properties at extreme temperatures. The initial cost is usually higher than that of other metal materials, their popularity relies on their minimization of cost over the complete life cycle of their use.

A minimum of 16% chromium and 6% nickel is found in austenitic stainless steel. They vary from basic grades like 304 through to super austenitic like 904L and 6% Molybdenum grades. Molybdenum, Titanium, or Copper can be added to steel to modify its properties.

The most commonly used austenitic grade is SS304. With its composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, it's sometimes stated as 18-8 stainless. It is common to divide austenitic steels into two groups: 300 series and 200 series. 300 series sheets of steel contain a minimum of 8% nickel whereas 200 series plates of steel replace portions of that nickel with cheaper alloys like nitrogen or manganese. often mirror-polished pipes are used in decorative and architectural purposes.

The Manufacturing Process of SS 202

Chromium-Manganese-Nickel based stainless steel, also known as grade 202 is machinable at low temperatures. As a result of the machinability of grade 202 stainless steel, the chips are long and gummy. Annealing can be performed as well. For full martensite transformation, the material must be immersed at 1038°C (1900°F) for 30 minutes and cooled below 16°C (60°F) afterwards. Typically, the material can be joined by fusion or resistance welding; oxyacetylene welding is not recommended for this steel. ER630 is the recommended filler metal. It is possible to pre-soak for 1 h at 1177°C (2150°F) before forging. The temperature of the forging burns out at lower than 1010°C (1850°F).

Applications of 202

  • As Equipment in Restaurant

  • Utensils in kitchen

  • Sinks in homes

  • Windows and doors
